The Alberta Construction Safety Association is please to announce that due to the over whelming success of the 3-year pilot, the Small Employer Ride Along Program has now become an full time program. Over the past 3 years our Small Employer Advisors have worked with numerous Employers assisting them developing Health and Safety programs through sound advise.
The Small Employer Ride Along program is outlined as follows:
- Advise on the use and application OH&S legislations
- Advise on implementation strategies of health & safety programs.
- Make recommendations on health and safety training requirements.
- Assist industry on the development of industry recognized Best Practices
- Demonstrate the Construction Safety Training System (CSTS).
- Advise on first aid requirements and emergency planning.
- Advise workers on their responsibilities for health and safety.
- Advise Contractor on their role and responsibilities regarding legislation.
- Inform Contractor on current and up coming legislations.
- Work with participating Contractor supervision on using and applying the company’s Health & Safety Program (i.e., Hazard Assessments & Inspections).
- Work with industry to assess the industry needs for the development of training programs.
- Demonstrate examples of safety equipment.
The Small Employer Ride Along Program is available to all ACSA members and associated member s for free under the following criteria:
Small Employer - Small Employer Definition is: " a Small Employer has 10 or fewer workers. This number includes the owner, clerical or administration staff, part time workers, temporary staff, family members, volunteers and whom you pay WCB for.
Large Employer whom hires Small Employers to carry out work activities on a regular basis.
