ACSA Courses

4015 CCA Mould Awareness Course (1 day)

Description:

This one-day course has been structured to enhance owners’, managers’, supervisors’, engineers’, consultants’, contractors’, suppliers’, and workers’ knowledge on how to effectively manage mould related issues throughout the Canadian construction industry.

Course Training Objectives:

  • Review and understand CCA’s Standard 82 titled “Mould Guidelines for the Canadian Construction Industry”
  • Review the potential risks and liabilities associated with mould
  • Provide training and resources to assist stakeholders in developing a mould minimization and prevention strategy plan
  • To understand issues associated with mould assessment, sampling, testing, remediation and demolition activities
  • To enhance attendees knowledge by participating in a construction related case study

Course Content:

This course contains the following sections:

1. Introduction 8. Mould assessment
2. Legal overview 9. Mould remediation guidelines
3. Insurance overview 10. Communication
4. Defining Mould 11. Decommissioning/Demolition considerations
5. Health risks 12. Disposal of mouldy materials
6. Construction practices to minimize moisture intrusion 13. Guidelines for selecting mould remediation contractors
7. Building operation and maintenance  

Certification:

Participants must:

  • Successfully meet the open book, one hour exam pass mark of 50%

A “Mould Guideline Certificate” will be issued to all attendees who meet the certification requirements.



This course qualifies for 0.5 BCRSP Certificate maintenance points. (CPM 10227)
