Description: Fall Protection Train-the-trainer Course (Industrial/Commercial or Wood Frame)
This three-day course is intensive and intended for those responsible for ensuring the safety of workers working at heights. The course combines a theory component covering applicable legislation, fall protection hazard assessment, planning and a practical in-depth component involving hands-on exercises with Fall Protection system equipment.
The person registering in this courses must:
Complete the ACSA Fall Protection Awareness course within the previous 12 months
Complete the one-day end-user course, and
Meet the following requirements:
Be physically capable of working at heights
Possess general health & safety knowledge
Be proficient with Fall Protection Plans
Possess a minimum of three years experience in the construction industry
Be involved in Fall Protection activities during the previous two years prior to registering in the course
Possess Standard First Aid certification
Possess knowledge of the Occupational health & Safety Act, Regulation and Code; and the Canada Labour Code
Knowledgeable on OSHA, ANSI and CSA standards
Possess good communications skills
Must supply their own personal protective equipment (steel-toed work boots, gloves, hardhat, safety glasses, coveralls [optional])
The participant is evaluated during the hands-on portion of the training and is required to successfully complete an in-depth written test in the afternoon of the last day of each of the courses.
