5300 Alberta Temporary Traffic Control - Field Application (1 day)

This one-day course was developed in conjunction with the Alberta Construction Safety Association and Alberta Roadbuilders and Heavy Construction Association, Alberta Transportation, Cities of Edmonton/Calgary, and Consulting Engineers of Alberta.

The target audience for this course is employees that are involved in implementation of traffic control plans, such as line supervisors, foremen, lead hands, “those who work in traffic situations”.  This course is for anyone actively involved in the implementation of temporary traffic control.

Course Objectives:

To provide a common level of practical knowledge for the erection of and dismantling of temporary traffic control systems in the Alberta construction industry.

Course Content:

• Temporary traffic control signs and devices
• The components of the traffic control zone
• Reading and understanding the traffic control plans
• Loading, transporting and setting up traffic control devices
• The traffic control person’s responsibilities
• Device maintenance and recording keeping practices

This course will provide knowledge to anyone
working in the field “putting up” and
“tearing down” signage and barricades
in temporary traffic control zones.
